Doyle Robison Obituary

Harry "Doyle" Robison, 74, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and a longtime resident of Big Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 6, 2026. In his final moments, he was surrounded by the love of his children.

Doyle spent his childhood years in Sioux City, Iowa, and later graduated from Sioux Falls College, where he began the path toward a career dedicated to caring for others.

Doyle was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known for his steady presence, kindness, and quiet strength, he lived his life with deep commitment to his family and those around him. He had a generous spirit and was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

On May 26, 1973, Doyle married the love of his life, Carol Ann Cooper. Together they built a life centered on family, partnership, and enduring love that spanned more than five decades.

Doyle proudly served his country in the United States Army as an anesthetist, dedicating his career to caring for others. After his military service, he continued his work in medicine and became known not only for his skill but also for his willingness to teach and mentor others at the hospital. Doyle took pride in helping younger colleagues learn and grow, always generous with his time, knowledge, and encouragement.

He was a proud and loving father to Jason Doyle Robison and his wife Joanna, and Lynnea Christine Robison, and a cherished grandfather to Julianna and Kaitlyn Robison, who brought him great joy.

Doyle is also survived by his father, Harry Vernon Robison (94); his brothers Bryce Robison and his wife Carol, and David Robison and his wife Shelly; along with extended family members and many dear friends whose lives he touched.

Doyle loved to tinker and build. He built his own home and helped build others, always working with his hands and taking pride in fixing or improving anything that needed attention. If something was broken, Doyle could fix it. If someone needed help, Doyle was always there. He was known for mowing neighbors' lawns, lending a hand whenever needed, and living with the belief that helping others was simply the right thing to do. Doyle never expected anything in return and was happiest simply knowing he could help someone else.

In January 2024, Doyle learned he had pancreatic cancer. He faced the illness with courage and determination and never gave up, continuing to push forward even in his final weeks. Just a few weeks before his passing, he underwent cataract surgery, still focused on improving his health and living life as fully as he could.

In keeping with his generous spirit and desire to help others, Doyle chose to donate his body to the Mayo Clinic to support medical education and research so that future physicians may learn and help others.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Doyle's life and legacy.

Doyle will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his devotion to family, his kindness, his service to others, and the lasting impact he had on all who knew him. The homes Doyle built may stand for years, but the love, generosity, and example he gave his family will stand for generations.
