Herbert Wayne "Herbie" Cornell, aged 87, passed away on November 20, 2024, in Reed City, Michigan. Born on March 4, 1937, in Muskegon, Michigan.
Herbie dedicated 43 and 1/2 years of his life to the Reed City Milk and Cheese Company, which later became Michigan Cottage Cheese, and then Yoplait. Throughout his career, he held various operational and management roles of commendable service.
Herbie was a devoted parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church in Reed City where he also found a community that shared his faith and values. His hobbies included listening to his scanner and ham radio, deer hunting, gardening, and taking memorable trips with his family.
He is survived by his spouse, Barbara of 66 years of marriage, and their children; Jerry (Charlotte) Cornell, Patricia (Ronald) Patterson, Carol (Eric) Landstrud, William (Melissa) Cornell, and Michael (Donna) Cornell; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, who will all cherish his memory.
Services to honor and celebrate his life will be held at St. Phillip Neri Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City, Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Phil Shangraw presiding, and visitation will be 1 hour prior to services, starting at 10 a.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to The Comfort Home, 204 N. Patterson Rd, Reed City, MI 49677, with checks payable to MCH. Luncheon to follow.

So very sorry to hear about Wayne. I went to school with Jerry and Pat and knew Wayne and Barb most all of my life and lived by their son Bill at one time. Nice family and my thoughts and prayers go out to Barb and the family that they find God's love and peace during this difficult time.
