Judith Wyckoff Obituary

Judith Irene Wyckoff
Big Rapids, Michigan
12/15/1933 - 08/21/2025
Judith Irene Wyckoff, 91, of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Born on December 15, 1933, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the daughter of Frank and Vivian Redlon. Judy graduated from Union High School and after high school worked at A.P. Johnson Printing Co.
In 1976, Judy married Bob Wyckoff, and together they shared 41 wonderful years. They owned and operated Wyckoff Jewelers in Big Rapids, where Judy's warmth and kindness were felt by customers and friends alike. Judy and Bob enjoyed fishing trips, their annual vacations to the Bahamas and cruises in the Caribbean and beyond. At home, she enjoyed cooking, reading, tending her flower gardens, and playing bridge with Bob and their close circle of friends.
Judy found great joy in her family. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jo Walker of Grand Rapids; her daughters, Susan (Dale) Slack of Hoschton, GA, Diane Smith of Longboat Key, FL, Julie (Pat) Greene of Grand Rapids, MI, and Mary Joe Klotz of Byron Center, MI; her grandchildren, Ali Slack, Michael Greene, John Greene, and Austin McCrory; and her great-grandchildren, Lexie and Lucas. She also leaves behind many special cousins.
Her extended family includes stepchildren, Mark (Leslie Hoover) Wyckoff, Kay (Bob) Babcock, and Wendy (Dean) VanZegeren; step-grandchildren, Scott Moorhead, Kevin Babcock, Kathryn Piening, Casady Wyckoff, and Hallie Wyckoff; and step-great-grandchildren, Scott Jr., Kathryn, Avery, Morgan, and Carter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; her son, Michael Plantamura; and her brother-in-law, Romie Walker.
Honoring Judy's wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Michigan Gift of Knowledge Program for medical education and research.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manna Pantry of Big Rapids, 315 S. State St., Big Rapids, MI 49307, or Angels of Action, 200 S. Stewart Ave., Big Rapids, MI 49307.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life.
