Mary Jane Grant, age 81, of Greenville, MI, formerly of Grant, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025.
She was born on August 30, 1943, in Grant, MI, to Floyd and Louise (Stewart) Smith, and carried the warmth and strength of her family throughout her life.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Connie (Ken) McVicker; son, Stanley A. (Tracey) Grant, Jr.; grandchildren, James (Tori) Grant, Katie (Darryl) Ruth, and Adam McVicker; great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Arianna; brothers, Jack (Janet) Smith, Jim Smith, and Bob Smith; sister, Joan Temple.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Gerwig; brother-in-law, John Gerwig; sister-in-law, Marian Smith; father, Floyd E. Smith; mother, Louise Katherine Smith.
Mary's passions were simple and sweet-she adored cardinals and birds, delighted in playing bingo and Uno, and never missed a good movie on the Hallmark Channel. She found her greatest joy in the presence of loved ones, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services - Grant Chapel, located at 45 E Main Street, Grant, MI 49327. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m.
Mary will be laid to rest in the company of family and tradition.
