It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our son, brother, and devoted father, Michael Jared Marek, 45. Michael passed away tragically on May 5th, 2025, in Texas. Michael was born on December 12, 1979 in Big Rapids, Michigan to Michael Marek and Sherrie Morrow-Marek (McBride).
Michael was an avid golfer and could often be found on the Pine Knolls Golf Course in Kernersville, NC. Another of Michael's many passions was cooking, at which he excelled. He was a diehard University of Michigan fan and truly loved playing and watching all sports throughout his life. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his quick wit, fast sense of humor, beautiful smile and his commitment to his daughters.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Beverly Morrow, Frank and Alice Marek, and his stepfather, Dean Hinton.
He is survived by his daughters, Jadyn and London Marek of TX; his mother, Sherrie McBride (Michael) of SC; his father, Michael Marek (Kelly) of MI; siblings, Branden Marek of MN, Miranda Marek Mangold (Isaac) of MT, Kaitlynn Hinton Johnson (Jeremy) of NC, Jacob Hinton (Jessica) of NC, and Dylan McBride (Katherine) of NY; nieces and nephews, Skyler, Emily, Nikolai, Clara, Declan, and Georgia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3950 Macy Grove Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284, with Rev. Francis Smith officiating.
