LA FARGEVILLE, N.Y. -- Paul Wernette, 61, of La Fargeville, New York, formerly of Weidman, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y.
Cremation has taken place and Paul's family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, with the vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Interment of his ashes will be at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday in St. Joseph the Worker Cemetery in Beal City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Paul was born March 10, 1956, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Dan and Phyllis (Abbott) Wernette, of Weidman. He graduated from Chippewa Hills High School and dedicated his life to being a devoted father, adored grandfather, successful business owner and beloved friend to many. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed restoring classic cars, parting the wind of the open road on his Harley and winding down a long day at "the office" with friends.
Paul is survived by his father, Dan Wernette, of Weidman; brother, Jeff (Rita) Wernette, of Weidman; sons, Shaun (Autumn) Wernette, of Belmont, and Corey Wernette, of Weidman. Paul was a proud grandfather to his five beautiful grandchildren, Zachary, Mira, Eliza, Lennon and Jonah Wernette. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Wernette; and three sisters, Connie Wernette, Julie Roche and Margaret "Peggy Sue" Edwards.
