Arthur Ortega, 60, of Big Spring passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Arthur Moreno Ortega was born on July 15, 1963 in Big Spring, Texas to the late Margarito Mendoza Ortega and Margaret Moreno Ortega and were members of the Northside United Methodist Church.
Arthur married Marnie Sue Hernandez on March 10, 1984. They had 4 children, the late Arthur Ortega Jr., Britnie Ortega, Courtnie Ortega, and Jacob Ortega. He moved to Austin Texas in 1990 and became known for Art's Custom Builders. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed building houses and remodeling.
Arthur is survived by his children and grandchildren, and his partner, Ida Delesantos. His son in law Xavier Zamarripa; daughter in law, Ashley Hernandez; Grandchildren, Thomas Campos, Marcus Martinez, Maximus Martinez, Leila Zamarripa, Xavier Jay Zamarripa, Elias Zamarripa, and Emiliano Ortega; Madison, Makayla, Christian, Elijah, Maddox and Ava De Los Santos Kingston, Santana and Laila Butler. Two sisters, Debbie Ortega (Ricardo), and Linda Lopez (Michael); his former wife, Marnie Ortega; extended family and friends.
