Jimmie Wood Obituary

Jimmie Richard Wood, 87, died Saturday, October 11, 2025. Memorial Service will be 4 PM Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel.
Jimmie was born on December 12, 1937 in Colorado City, TX. He was a lifetime resident of Mitchell and Howard Counties. He was also a member of 14th & Main Church of Christ.
Jimmie worked at Col-Tex Refinery in Colorado City; later Cosden & Fina. Retiring in 1994 as a safety director. He was an avid fisherman and bowler. He was a lifetime member of NRA.
Jimmie Is survived by 2 daughters: Shelley Choate and husband, Mark of Big Spring & Stacey Palmer and husband, Clarence of Big Spring; sister: Judy Young of Big Spring; 9 grandchildren: Jason, Brett, Kristin, Erin, Caleb, Brionna, Faith, Kylie, & Aubrey; and 13 great grandchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents: Jim & Odessa Wood; brother: Michael Wood, & wife: Nancy Wood.
