Jimmy Compton Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jimmy Compton, a beloved father and grandfather on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born on September 29, 1941, Jimmy dedicated over 40 years to his craft as the owner of Compton's Plumbing Co. in Colorado City, where he became a well-respected tradesman. For the past two decades, he made his home in Big Spring, having moved closer to his children and grandchildren, whom he adored deeply.

A proud member of Sand Springs Baptist Church, Jimmy embodied the spirit of dedication and love in all he did. His adventurous soul found joy in breaking horses and competing as a bull rider and bronc rider in the rodeo. A true cowboy at heart, he was often seen riding his beloved horse, Jazzy, in local parades, leaving a mark on the memories of many. Jimmy was also passionate about watching westerns, with a special fondness for Pro Rodeo.

Jimmy will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Terri (Bobby) Pearson and Tracy (Miki) Klempa, as well as his 46 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Wade Compton, and his daughter Jan Sanders.
