Jimmy C DeLeon

1939 - 2024

Jimmy C DeLeon, 85 of Big Spring, Texas passed away on May 14, 2024.He was born on March 31, 1939, to Rodolfo and Guadalupe DeLeon. He lived in Big Spring all his life. He married Rosalinda Flores on June 28, 1957. In his early years he owned a gas station, and later worked for 7UP and then Coca Cola. He then dedicated his career to what was then the Cosden Refinery and later became Fina, from which he retired as a pipe fitter in 2000. He was fortunate to own what family referred to as "El Rancho." He raised various types of animals and livestock and treated his cattle as if they were his children. He loved to have family gatherings every weekend and made sure that everyone left with a full stomach and leftovers for home. Later in life he loved to gamble and make quick trips to the casino and would play on the "maquinitas" as much as he could. There was not a day that went by, that he did not have a lottery scratch of ticket within his reach. He dedicated his life to make sure that his children had what they needed and did not go without.
He is survived by his sons, Eugene DeLeon and Michael DeLeon of Big Spring. Daughters, Yvonne Myers and husband Rick, Yvette DeLeon and Jackie DeLeon of Big Spring. His brother's Dickie DeLeon Sr., Ben DeLeon Sr., Johnny DeLeon, Mario DeLeon all of Big Spring. Sister's Yolanda Mendoza of Big Spring, Carmen DeLeon, Mary Ann Faulkner, Lizzy Ross all of California. Grandchildren, Stacey King, Armando DeLeon, Gregory Alcantar, Jake DeLeon, Valerie Thompson, Kimberly DeLeon, Maximillian DeLeon, Sophie DeLeon, James DeLeon, Rebecca Myers, Allison Myers, Jared Rodriguez, Brody DeLeon, Braxten DeLeon, Chloe' Starr, Billy Starr Jr, Kelvi Alcantar. Eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Amparo Franco, brothers, Eddie DeLeon Sr, Rudy DeLeon, his wife, Rosalinda DeLeon and one son Jimmy "Chick" DeLeon Jr.
Pallbearers will be Eddie DeLeon Jr., Ben DeLeon Jr., Dicke DeLeon Jr., Aaron Mendoza, Eddie Flores, Jared Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Starr Jr, Maximillian DeLeon, James DeLeon, Brody DeLeon, Braxten DeLeon
Visitation will be 9 AM until 9 PM with a vigil service at 7 PM at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10 AM Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Cemetery.
