Benjamin McFarland Obituary

It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benjamin Lee McFarland, 39, who left us peacefully on January 13th, surrounded by his family. A son, brother, uncle, godfather, and an amazing friend, Ben has started his new life in heaven and will be remembered for his strong will, passion, success, faith, and love.

Ben was born on November 23, 1985 in Long Beach, California to Bill and Sara McFarland, the older brother of Elizabeth, William, John, and brother in law Matt. He was known for his unwavering faith, protective nature, and dedication to hard work and success. Gone too soon after a battle with brain cancer, Ben significantly outlived the disease's typical life expectancy, turning over every stone of research and treatment which will continue to support the drive to a cure.

As a brother, Ben was a steadfast protector and a loyal friend. He was the rock his siblings could always count on; offering advice, support, guidance, and love whenever called upon. He was thrilled at the welcoming of his niece, Eleanor Lee Myers, and while their time together was short, they spent it full of pure joy, smiles, and laughs. His memory and name lives on through her. The impact he had on his family is a gift that will be cherished forever.

Ben was successful in every sense of the word - not just in his career, but the relationships he built and nurtured throughout his life, undoubtedly a result of his fierce drive and dedication to everything he put his mind to. His place of serenity was fly fishing on the Boulder River in Big Timber, Montana. His favorite things included fly fishing, golf, reading, spending time with family and friends, and making people laugh. He was a man of deep faith and saw his end of life as a testimony to being saved by Jesus Christ, and that his place in heaven has given him the ultimate peace.

Ben's memory lives on in us all, and his passing is a reminder to treasure life, live it to the fullest, and not work too hard.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Ben's life will be held this spring. To leave condolences for the family, please visit www.stenbergfuneralhome.com
