Ardy was born on February 7, 1939 in Bismarck, North Dakota. She was the first of three children born to James and Helen (Solberg) Noon of Wilton, North Dakota. She passed away in the early morning hours of Nov. 17, 2017, at the age of 78 at Highgate Senior Living Memory Care Cottage in Billings. She had suffered the effects of Alzheimer 's disease for several years and she died due to complications from that disease.
She grew up on the family farm in Wilton, North Dakota. Her love of the outdoors and horses was discovered early in life and was nurtured by her father and grandfather. She was a petite little cowgirl who loved barrel racing and being a jockey more than anything else. She won many competitions and her barrel racing times are still in the North Dakota Rodeo Association Books. She loved to sit and tell stories of her days of "horsing around."
In May of 1956 she married Russel Wise in Wilton, ND. In 1960 they moved to Billings, MT with their three sons and in 1961 they welcomed a daughter. Her family was always her top priority and she treasured her children above all else. Her home was always open and welcoming to friends who needed a place to be or a meal to eat. She was well known for cooking huge amounts of food, just in case somebody showed up hungry. Cooking became her passion and as a result she acquired enough cookbooks to fill a library.
In June 1993, Ardy and Russ moved to Boyd, where they could have a couple horses and raise a few cows. In 1999, Ardy was widowed when Russ was fatally injured in a tractor accident.
Ardy was always a hard worker. In 1974, she started work the Billings Sheltered Workshop as a Bookbindery Supervisor, transitioning to the central printshop of Billings School District #2. She retired from there in June 2004 after working there for 30 years.
In June 2002, Ardy married Patrick Boehm at her daughter's house in Billings. From that marriage she gained three stepchildren whom she loved as her own.
Ardy is survived by her brother Gary (Karen) Noon of Omaha, Nebraska, children, Monte Wise of Pocatello, Idaho, twin sons Sheridan (Beverly) Wise of Stevensville, Sheldon (Terry) Wise and daughter Darcy (Britt) Moffet, both of Billings, three stepchildren, Jodie (Tom) Fetsch of Mandan North Dakota, Troy (Lisa) Boehm of Mandan North Dakota, and Darrin (Heidi) Boehm of West Fargo North Dakota, stepbrother James Martineson of Prospect, Kentucky. Grandchildren Heather Wise of Stevensville, Caleb Wise of Bozeman, Justin Wise of Three Forks, Bridget Brown of Pocatello, Idaho, twin granddaughters April and Ashley Moffet of Billings, Steven (Samantha) Fetsch of Hazen North Dakota, Sarah (Kendal) Rose of Bismarck North Dakota, and Tanner and Jack Boehm of West Fargo, North Dakota, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter coming in March 2018. She is also survived by her two "adopted" sons Emanuel Hartman III and Allen Cattaneo as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother Gordon Noon, husband Russel Wise, and husband Patrick Boehm.
Her children would like to thank the Care Partners at Highgate Senior Living Memory Care Cottage for the outstanding way they provided for Mom while she was a resident there. She was treated with the respect and dignity she so richly deserved.
