Bruce A. Davis, 79, of Billings, passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Deaconess Medical Center. He was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Missoula, son of Alonzo Davis and Margaret Weiler Davis.
His family moved to Billings when he was 6 months old. He attended school in Billings.
He entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and served four years. He returned to Billings and worked 33 years for Exxon Oil Co., retiring in 1983.
Bruce had many interests and hobbies. He was involved in lapidary (making jewelry). He also started the Aqua Knight Search and Rescue in Billings, and taught many people the art of scuba diving.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, whom he married March 19, 1949, in Columbus; his daughter, Rhonda (Lee) Anderson of Cave Creek, Ariz.; his son, Neal (Linda) Davis of Colstrip; four grandchildren, Shawn Kiefer, Kim Sire, Randi Davis, Renee Davis; four great-grandchildren, Skyler, Sidney, Seth, Samantha.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Smith West Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
