Clyde Clapp Obituary

GLENDIVE - Clyde W. Clapp, age 79, of Glendive, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care Facility.

Private family interment was in the family lot of Dawson County Cemetery. No services are planned. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.

Clyde was born on Nov. 4, 1924, the son of Clyde Thomas and Frieda Clapp, on the family farm located seven miles north of Glendive. He attended Deer Creek School and during World War II, he helped his father operate the Clapp Coal Mine. As a young man, Clyde was very interested in sports and enjoyed playing softball. After his father's death in 1950, Clyde continued to have an active part in the farm and feedlot operation. In addition, he also operated his irrigated farm on Buffalo Rapids.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, August George and Fred D.; and one sister, Anna Louise.

Clyde is survived by two brothers, John Clapp and his wife Ramona and Carl Clapp and his wife Jeanne, all of Glendive.
