Eugene "Gene" Iwen, 72 of Williston, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, in Williston, North Dakota. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston is assisting the family. Friends may sign the on-line register and give their condolences at www.fulkersons.com
Visitation will be held at Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in Williston, Thursday, June 15, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., and one hour prior to services. A family service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 15, at Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, North Dakota.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 16, at Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Williston, North Dakota. Pastor Nicole Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
Eugene (Gene) Weldon Iwen was born on March 11, 1945, in Wolf Point, to Bernard and Mae Iwen. He passed away June 10, 2017 in Minot, North Dakota. Eugene married Linda on Nov. 9, 1963. To this union six children were born: Russell, Brenda, Cheryl, Sandra, Lisa and Jeff.
Gene was a hard-working man for the entirety of his life. As a young man, he worked many years on the family farm and dairy farm in Wolf Point. After moving to Williston, he worked on several farms as well as managed the Park Village Apartments for sixteen and a half years. At the time of his death, he was employed by Menards.
Gene was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends, children, and grandchildren. His grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy, and he was delighted with all of their accomplishments and activities.
In recent years, Gene and Linda spent their leisure time together driving along the river, fishing, watching birds, and gardening. He was a warm-hearted, giving man whose home was open to all and would do anything for anyone. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 53 years; his children Brenda (Dennis) White, Cheryl (Robert) Meyer, Lisa (Arden), Blekestad, and Jeff (Heather) Iwen; his grandchildren Matthew and Brianna White, Nicholas, Brandon and Logan Meyer, Lindsey and Austin Eliasen, Jeffrey, Eugene, Jaeger, Elliot, Emelia, Ella and Aiden Iwen; his siblings Yvonne (Gary) Klinger, Spike (Ione) Iwen, Carol (Tom) Simenson, Sherry (Gary) Wolff, Jim (DeeAnn) Iwen, Loren (Dawn) Iwen, Robbi (Melanie) Iwen, Kathy (Kelly) Martin, and his brother-in-law Bob (Joyce) Peters.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, grandparents, brother Austin, and children Russell and Sandra.
