Frank W. Sindelar of Billings was born April 19, 1956, and passed away July 7, 2014.
Frank was a fourth-generation rancher operating Dover Ranch, a family owned business since 1881. He was born on the ranch, and took after his father and grandfather before him, working and loving the work that he did. Frank worked on the ranch his entire life, starting at a very young age and continuing till his last days with us.
Frank was avid in many different organizations. As a young man he was active in 4-H, raising the cattle that he continued to raise his entire life. He was part of the NILE and Pioneers of Eastern Montana, being a member alongside his father, uncle, wife and daughter. He was a weed science expert and saw an art in hay-stacking; not once did one of his stacks fall.
In 1987, Frank married Kimberly J. Schock, now becoming a Sindelar, also from Billings; she moved onto the ranch and continued alongside her husband in the family business. In 2000, they had their first and only child together, Frankie Gates Sindelar. Frank was a friend to everyone and every animal he met. His honesty and positive, straightforward attitude, combined with his love for life and fun, made him many respected friends. Frank loved to spend his time on the ranch, sharing his vast knowledge with his daughter, teaching her to also be a caretaker of the land and setting the groundwork for her to follow in his footsteps.
Frank went to be with the Lord while surrounded by the love of family on July 7, 2014.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Frankie; wife, Kim; parents, Dover and Irene Sindelar; siblings, John (Laurel) Sindelar of Billings, Vicky (Kenny) Walter of Billings and Karen (Jerry) Farmer of Tennesee. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Funeral services are set for Friday, July 11, 11 a.m. St. Bernard's Parish. Cremation and burial will take place at a designated ranch site on a later date.
