Hazel Mae Gierut went to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at Evergreen Nursing Home.
Hazel was born May 17, 1923, in Oakfield, New York; the Daughter of Leo and Margaret Lavan. She had two brothers and one sister.
On June 23, 1941, Hazel married Walter J. Czerniecki in Lockport, New York. They had three daughters and one son. They moved to Billings in 1955. In 1959, they divorced. In 1963 she married John Gierut.
Hazel provided maid services for families in the Billings area for over 30 years. She loved to have yard sales. She enjoyed her home and spending time outside. She also had a love for horses.
Survivors include her sister, Gail Joyce of Temple, Texas; her daughter, Patricia (Murdy) Haagenson of Echo, Ore.; grandchild Murdy Frank Haagenson of Echo, Ore.; grandchildren, Murdy (Lisa) and great-grandchild Raven, of San Antonio, grandchild, Rene (Kevin) Davis, great-grandchildren Aryn and Seth, of Klickata, Wash.; grandchild Lyn (Ed) Mathews, great-grandchildren Kelly and Melissa, of Schertz, Texas; grandchild Melody (Richard) Pryor, and great-grandchildren Josh, Setty, and Steven, of Yakima, Wash.; daughter, Barbara Burd; grandchild, Penny and great-grandchildren Kelly and Journey; son, Tracy (Patsy) Burd; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Sammy; daughter, Beverly (Ralph "Rocky") Ostermiller; grandchildren Bruce and John and great-grandchildren, Casey and Melodee Rose; grandchild, Dusty and great-grandchildren Cameron, Zachery, Kaleb, T.J. and Nathan; son, Walter (Jacquie) Czerniecki; grandchild Walter James, Jr. (Tammy) great-grandchildren, Jared & Krista; all of Billings.
I am as the breeze and I will do as I please just bumming around. We love you Ma and Grandmother.
