Jessie Menck Obituary
December 31, 1981 - August 30, 2025
Jessie Diana Menck died at home in Omaha on August 30, 2025, after a fierce battle with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. She will be missed by many.
Jessie was born on December 31, 1981, in Omaha, Neb., to parents Thomas Wayne Menck and Kathie (Hartwig) Menck. She graduated from Ralston High School in 2000, the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Drama in 2004, and later, Creighton University accelerated nursing program earning her BSN, RN in 2009. Most recently, she worked at The Urology Center in Omaha but enjoyed many nursing roles in different capacities and settings. Jessie supported many causes close to her heart and enjoyed traveling, trivia, board games, puzzles, LEGO, gardening, costuming, movies, and her rescue dogs.
Jessie is preceded in death by her father, Tom Menck; his parents, Jerry and Betty Menck of Omaha; her mother's parents, Herbert and Elsie Hartwig of Diller, Neb.; and her uncle, Myron Hartwig of Harbine, Neb.; along with two beloved dogs, Zeus and Babe.
She is survived by her sister, Robin Hartwig Menck of Omaha; and her mother, Kathie of Beatrice. Also surviving her are uncles and aunts: Ted and Vicki Menck of Palatine, Ill. and Ken and Kendra Hartwig of Lincoln, Neb.; cousins and their families: Scott Menck, Andy Menck, Brendy Beck, Meghan Frickel, Erin Sandquist, Andrew Hartwig, Ben Hartwig; and her rescue dogs, Jasper and Rosie.
Jessie's "Lifetime Achievement Award" Ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 18th, at the Dundee Theater, 4952 Dodge St., Omaha, starting at 12 p.m. with a ceremony, followed by a movie viewing, one last movie recommendation from Jessie.
In lieu of flowers, plant a garden and let every bloom be a blessing.
