Joseph Rodney Preator passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 75. Joe was born November 25, 1947 to Joseph Guy Preator and Ruth LeMaster Preator. Joe was the second child to his sister Margaret and was followed with three brothers... Richard, Randy, Bruce and sister Nancy.

Joe was raised in Cody and enjoyed all the great attributes of our town... fishing, hunting, rodeo and its welcoming character. Joe graduated Cody High School in 1966.

Joe married Carolyn Hodson in 1966 and had two sons, Rodney Bruce and Jeffrey Alan. Joe and Carolyn moved to Sheridan, Wy in 1970 where Joe worked for I.D.S. and Farm Bureau selling insurance investments until the age of 45. At that time, he decided to take up his hobby of building full time and began doing carpentry with his two sons. Joe was active in the community of Sheridan and made life long friends.

Many of his friends have said that to know Joe, he always made everyone feel like they were his best friend. He always greeted people with a big smile and a twinkle in his eye. He is survived by his brothers, Richard and Randy; sisters, Margaret and Nancy; his sons, Rodney and Jeffrey; his granddaughter, Morgan and (Brian Maketa) and two great-grandsons, Remington and Halen Maketa. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Ruth and his brother, Bruce. Cremation has taken place and memorial services are pending.
