Keith O. "K.O." Wiley

Keith Wiley Obituary

BASIN, Wyo. - Keith O. "K.O." Wiley passed away Friday evening, Aug. 25, 2006, at his home in Basin following a heroic three-year battle with Leukemia.
Keith was born in Great Falls, Mont., on Feb. 4, 1948, to Earl and Margaret (Smith) Wiley. After graduating from high school in Grass Range, Mont., he served with the United States Army from 1967 to 1970, during Vietnam. Following his discharge, Keith worked as a heavy equipment operator at various mines around Montana. In December of 1974, he married Robyn Hand in Butte. They later divorced, but remained friends. He was an avid hunter, especially along the Missouri Breaks, enjoyed fishing, and restoring classic cars. He had a special place in his heart for his son-in-laws, John and Tony, treating them like his own sons. But the greatest joy of his life was being Papa to his grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Earl Wiley in 1996; and his brother, Flint in 1978. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Wiley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janette and Ron Sims, and Sheila and Max Sims; daughters and sons-in-law, K.D. and John Kennis and Kristy and Tony Dallaserra; grandchildren, McKenna and Teagan Kennis, and Kadance and Wiley Dallaserra; nieces, Shannon and Molly Sims; nephew, Bob Jewell; and his special friend, Sharon "Sam" Scott.
Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home. Private interment of ashes will be at the Montana Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Easter Seals, or to the Leukemia Foundation.
