Larry J. Heimsness, age 83, of Austin, Minn., passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna, Minn.
Larry was born February 26, 1942 in Austin, Minn., to Wilbur and Anne (Hook) Heimsness.
He worked at Hormel Foods, starting as a draftsman and working his way up to plant manager.
On March 30, 1973 he was united in marriage to Patricia "Patti" Flynn in Las Vegas, Nev.
Larry was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and in his younger years enjoyed fishing and played basketball in college.
Survivors include his children, Eric (Teresa), Dana (Randy), Lee (Kent), Chip (Cathy), Tara, Darya (Neal), Alicia; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Anne; wife, Patti; former wife, Carol; son-in-law, Joe.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Reverend Kris Ferkin officiating. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service.
