Loren Zent Obituary
Loren P. Zent, 78, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in his home in Billings, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 20, 1925, in Dickinson, N.D., to John and Eugenia Zent. Loren married JoAnne Schreuder, April 12, 1947, at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral in Billings. After attending Billings Senior High School, Loren's career as a truck driver spanned over 41 years and he retired from Consolidated Freightways, where he received a safety award for having driven over one million accident-free miles. He was a member of Teamsters Local 190.
Loren enjoyed carpentry and built his family home. His other interests included yard work and playing cards. Loren enjoyed family, friends and sharing a good joke.
Loren is survived by his wife JoAnne; his children, Dr. Rod (Penny) Zent of College Station, Texas, Jeralyn Selman of Billings; his grandchildren, Jonilyn Authur, Miranda Stiles, Jan Holt, Janna Pavelis and Joel Pavelis; and four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Bernie(George) Fogle, Jackie Creech, Pat (Dale) Fleming of Billings, Vel Elliott of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Arlene (Jack) Seeman of Hemet, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will follow in the Hospitality Room.
