Mary Schuler Obituary

LIVINGSTON - Mary Jean Robinson was born on Aug. 16, 1937, in Livingston, to Lillie May and Cecil Robinson. She died suddenly on Sept. 23, 2004.
Mary grew up in Livingston, where her father worked as a machinist for the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads. She graduated from Park High School in 1955. Following high school, she went to Spokane, Wash., where she worked as a switchboard operator. Mary met John "Jack" W. Schuler in 1956 and they began dating on Valentines' Day. They were married on May 17, 1958, in Livingston. They had two daughters, Kathy and Linda.
Mary traveled the world to many interesting places with her husband, a career officer in the U.S. Air Force. In 1974, they moved back to Montana to be closer to her parents and to allow Kathy and Linda to finish growing up in Montana. She worked for the State Of Montana at the Livingston Liquor Store for 20 years until her retirement in 1996. Mary followed in her mother's footsteps by becoming active in the Democratic Party. She served as a National Officer for the National Federation of Democratic Women. She loved debating and discussing any and all current issues. In recent years, she traveled Montana with Jack, supporting his duties as the State President of the Elks. She enjoyed handicrafts of all types and her artistic creations will remind us of her love for generations to come. Mary spent much of her life interacting and caring for the people around her.
Mary is survived by her husband; her daughters, Kathy (Dennis) Korpela of Longmont, Colo., and Linda (Russ) Bachmeier of Salt Lake City; grandchildren Rory, Krista, Joshua, Mackenzie and Sara; and her sister Patti (John) Orndorf. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Holbrook United Methodist Church on the Corner of Fifth and Lewis in Livingston. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery. The funeral will be followed by a celebration of her life at the Livingston Elks Club. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the Elks National Foundation or the Shriner's Hospital.
Cremation or Funeral Gallery of Belgrade is in charge of arrangements.

Jack and Family. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Linda and I enjoyed your company at Elks meetings and having just lost Linda in June -- my first thought was of Mary and Linda sitting together chatting on the other side. Take time to have a happy thought everyday of things you enjoyed together--and yes it is fine to shed tears when you miss her!

My Love and Prayers.
