Our energetic, vibrant, full of life "Dolly" and "Nanny" has passed away. We thought she was invincible and would live to be 100! Although she pursued a "healthy" lifestyle, we were shocked when she had a massive stroke on June 16, 2002. She died at Horizon Hospice Home on Monday, July 1, 2002, at the age of 82.
Natalie "Dolly" was the youngest of seven children born to Elizabeth Batt and Jacob Michael who were German immigrants from Russia. "Dolly" was born in Laurel on Nov. 30, 1919. She grew up in Laurel and Park City. After graduation from Park City in 1938, she attended nurses training for a brief period. She married Alexander Weber in Laurel on April 11, 1941. They had two children: Sandi and Doug.
"Dolly" worked at Western Drug and volunteered many years for American Legion baseball. She was a stay-at-home grandma, taking care of her adoring grandchildren who called her "Nanny."
She loved to work in her yard, help others, and keep busy. She was a stable "rock" for all her relatives and friends. No one was a stranger once you met her. She loved to talk to people and made many friends along the way. After Alex's death in 2000, "Dolly" moved into Aspen View where she very much enjoyed the social companionship and "retirement." While at Aspen View, Dolly energized others with her great sense of humor, ran errands, and, with her keen memory, recalled things for others. Dolly was a very caring woman of great strength physically, mentally and spiritually.
She is survived by her children, Sandi Weber Burns of Billings and Doug Weber (Laura) of Peoria, Ariz.; her sister, Emily Michael Blotkamp of Billings; grandchildren; Brandon Burns, Brett Burns (Erika) and Meg Weber; great-grandchildren; Brenna Burns and Tyler Burns. Also surviving are many close nieces and nephews.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alex Weber; son-in-law Jim Burns; and her siblings, Jacob Michael, Henry Michael, Herman Michael, Lydia Gifford and Mabel Graves.
Services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church at 537 Grand Ave. on Friday, July 5, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Horizon Hospice Home, PO Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
