Nathaniel Jacob Redfern
BILLINGS - Nathaniel Jacob Redfern (Nate) was born in Billings, MT, on May 16, 1983, soon after his twin brother, Brian, to parents J. Mark and Sharon Redfern. Nate passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of a cardiac event on June 6, 2024, in Billings.
Nathan was an avid reader and sports fanatic. After playing collegiate golf at Pacific Lutheran and Idaho State, he decided to suspend his college studies and pursue a career as a PGA Professional. Working as an assistant pro at Hilands Golf Course in Billings was one of the highlights of his life.
Nate loved to read and share books with his Dad. Later on, Nate completed a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and was currently living in Billings employed in the customer service field.
Nate enjoyed being around others and those he met became friends. His caring and helpful nature was evident in all aspects of his life. He especially loved his family, his nieces and nephews, and attended their various sporting events as often as possible. It was always evident when Nate was at a game as his boisterous enthusiasm was uncontainable.
His sports knowledge was extensive and he loved discussing sports with anyone who was able. Nate shared a love of cooking with his Mom and often helped in preparing meals for his family and friends.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Mark and Sharon Redfern of Billings; brother, Brian Redfern (Jacquelyn); sister, Sarah Spangler (Chad); sister, Jenna Miller (Ty); and his nephews and nieces whom he adored: Caleb, Carter, and Max Spangler, Peyton Miller, and Charlee Redfern; as well as a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Luna.
A memorial service will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4125 Grand Avenue, Billings, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 (Smith Funeral Chapels). A reception will be held in the church Commons immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Nate's honor are suggested to the Montana State Junior Golf Association or the Billings Public Library.
