Ortha Zuck Obituary

LAUREL - Our beautiful, kind, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother went to be with our Lord on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at the age of 85.

Ortha LaVon Zuck, "Lollie," was born on June 15, 1931, in Casper, Wyo., to Carl and Ortha Fossum. Her brother Blaise, now deceased, joined her little family two years later. At the very young age of 8, their mother died. With her father having to support them, she and her brother were raised by their great-grandmother whom she described as a "Drill Sergeant."

She was her brother's angel during this time and kept him safe. She married and bore her first child JoLynn. After a short marriage, she became a single mother and came to live with her father in Laurel.

She then met Henry (Hank) Fritzler and bore three more children; Terrence (TK), Katherine (Kathy), and Elizabeth (Lissa). She endured the passing of Hank when he was only 39, of cancer, and again, she was a single mother of four children until she met the love of her life John G. Zuck. He brought with him five more children; Robert (Bob), Michael (Mike), Kathleen (Kass), Terry, and Timothy (Tim).

One Year later, we lost JoLynn at the age of 19, in a tragic accident, which created a strong bond in her family that would always be evident.

John and Lollie raised nine children with strong values, love for each other, tough discipline, fun, and laughter. These values became evident as her family grew with the births of her precious grandchildren; Tara Jo, Shawn, Madison, Sarah, Rachael, Josh, Katie, Dan, Tom, Brent, Erin, David, John, Steven, Meghan, Brandon, Hailee, Zack, Abbie, as well as, her great-grandchildren, Mazie, Kaitlynn, Riley, Brayden, Kinzie, and Tanner. She absolutely adored every one of them, as they cherished her as well.

Lollie was an artist, a beautiful seamstress, gourmet cook, and was extremely involved in her Church for many years at every level.

When she married John, her world changed dramatically. She went from the quiet refined church lady to an outdoor enthusiast, including boating, water skiing, snow skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, golfing, and she had her own motorcycle.

Aside from managing a home with nine children, she worked full time outside of the home as a clerk at Motor Vehicle in Billings, and then became a Real Estate Agent.

Those who knew her would describe Lollie as kind, sweet funny, and a very classy lady. She was filled with love for her family and everyone she knew. Her strength was extraordinary.

Her gentle presence will be missed by her family and friends forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rez Dog Rescue, or a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 707 W. 3rd St. Laurel, Montana, and a reception will follow.
