Paul Olson Obituary
Paul was born on July 20, 1965, in Watertown, WI, to Gerald and Devonna (Demmer) Olson. He was the youngest of their three sons. He lived his early life in Winona, MN and attended Winona Senior High School. He attended Winona State University for business and Minnesota State College Southeast - Winona Campus for machine tool and die. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church, where he married Jennifer (Ellefson) in 1992. They shared two beautiful children and raised three. In July 1993, Paul was thrilled to be given the opportunity to move west. With the help of their families, they packed up and started their new adventure. He opened his first store for Fastenal in Twin Falls, ID. Paul worked hard, but on the weekends, the family would explore everything they could in the surrounding area. After ten months, he was given another opportunity to open a store in Billings, MT. Paul worked multiple management positions with Fastenal. In 1999 he married Kathleen (Koronich) and enjoyed living in Colorado, where they had their son. Paul found his true calling with Kimball Midwest as a regional manager in Ohio. There he met and mentored many friends and colleagues. Paul loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, exploring, but his true love was bodybuilding. Some of his closest, lifelong friends were made at the gym. Paul took first place in his first competition in 1992 and again in his last competition in 2016. He was strong willed and determined, traits he has passed on to his children. In 2017, with a gleam in his eye, he was promoted to Grandpa. Paul was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and will be truly missed.
Paul is survived by his parents, Jerry and Dee, of Amery, WI; wife Kathy, of Chesterland, OH; three children: Lucas Olson, Laken (Dustin) Mounce, both of Billings, MT, and Hunter Olson, of Chesterland, OH; two grandchildren: Finley and Torin Mounce; brother Craig (Jane), of Amery, WI; nephew Robert (Andrea) Olson, of Frisco, TX; and many in-laws. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald and niece Jennifer.
A celebration to honor Paul was held on August 10, 2024, at Chagrin Valley Athletic Club.
