Penny Morris Obituary

Penny A. Morris (Collins), age 66, changed energy forms at her long-time Billings Heights residence on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.

Penny was born May 23, 1951 to Betty and John Collins in Greenville, Pennsylvania.

Penny grew up in the small town of Jamestown, Pennsylvania, where she and her sisters enjoyed time running through the woods and solving mysteries at Pymatuning State Park. Her family moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1964. She graduated from Brandon Senior High School in 1969. Penny married Terry Aldridge in 1970, who preceded her in death, and her first son, Christian E. Aldridge, was born. In 1975, Robert Morris was born, his father, Fernandez Perkins, also preceded her in death.

Penny moved to Billings, in 1980 where she met Barry Morris. They had two children, Jacob Morris and Sarah Morris.

Penny enjoyed gardening, raising chickens as well as many different critters. Penny also had a fondness for classic rock music, cooking, reading, and astrology. She took great pride in the cultural education of herself and her children. On occasion she would attend Pow-Wows, sweat lodges, pagan equinox and solstice gatherings as well as services at St. Bernard's Church. Penny was very well read and could carry on a conversation on almost any subject with the most educated person.

In addition to her kids, Penny's biggest source of joy was her beautiful yard and garden and her many Critters (she never turned one away that wandered up or someone in need dropped off). If you knew Penny you most certainly can picture her with a broom or weed eater in hand. Penny always had room for any friend in need of a place to stay.

Penny took her love of astrology to the next level and did astrological charts and readings for clients in her downtown office when her children were younger.

Penny's love of books led her to work at Barnes & Noble as a Merchandise Manager for 18 years. There she developed the skill of speed reading and could complete an entire book in her lunch break. She truly loved her job and enjoyed her co-workers as well as her many regular customers. Barnes & Noble was a huge source of joy for Penny.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Betty and John Collins.

Penny is survived by her husband Barry; her children Christian Aldridge (Tracy Evans-Aldridge), Robert Morris (Christena Harralson); Jacob Morris (Karli Morris) and Sarah Morris; her siblings Carol Collins (Thatcher), Elaine McClelland, Michael Collins (Jean DeHart) and Patrick Collins (Kathleen Collins), Suzette Collins and Jill Collins; her grandchildren, Corina and Michael Aldridge, Nathan Evans, Vania Soraich, Gillian Morris-Soraich (and her mother, Daphne Soraich) and Kellan and Carmen Morris; and her soon-to-be born grandchild of Robert and Christena; nieces Samantha and Hannah Thatcher; Estrella Martin (Chimen) and nephew, Sam Martin and grand-niece Jordin. Penny also leaves behind dear friends, David Stain, Beth McGee and her neighbor, Dennis Talkington, as well as numerous Pennsylvania family members that although many were spread across the U.S., they were always dear to her heart.

In lieu of flowers please donate to either Riverstone Hospice or to any charitable organization that helps disadvantaged animals.

All of us who love Penny bid farewell to the Earth's most beautiful Goddess inside and out.

Please join us for Penny's memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Heights Family Funeral Home.
