Robert Leroy Glassing, affectionately known as "Bobby G," passed away peacefully on Friday evening May 8, 2015. He was surrounded by family and friends and is now adjusting, or relocating the thermostat somewhere in heaven.
He was born Jan. 17, 1930 to John and Mabel Glassing, the second of two sons in Minneapolis. The family moved to Billings in 1970. Bobby was a Korean War veteran and spent his working life in the hardware business and installing residential heating and cooling systems for anyone who needed it.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Don; and his sister-in-law Patricia. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Patricia Glassing; his four sons Gary (Jan), Mike (Heidi), Bryan (Verna) and Greg. He was also the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life with reception will be Friday, May 29, at 5 p.m. at the ELKS Lodge in Billings.
