Shirley L. Hurry

June 15, 1934 - March 12, 2025

Shirley L. Hurry was born on June 15th, 1934 to Florence and Verne Wallace in Billings, Montana. She attended school at Billings Senior High School and graduated in 1952. She continued her education by enrolling in the Montana State College of Nursing, graduating on August 19th, 1955, and earning her Registered Nursing degree.

She married James J. Hurry and they had 4 children together.

Her final nursing move was to the Billings Clinic Infectious Disease Department. She worked there for 23 years before retiring. After retiring she spent time teaching reading to children in local schools and volunteering for Hospice, which she continued to do for the next 20 years.

She enjoyed a variety of activities including four wheeling, camping, traveling, following her grandchildren's sporting events, spoiling her cats, cross-word puzzles and was an extremely gifted seamstress. Her greatest love was quilting. She made many quilts for her children, grandchildren, great grand children.

She is met in heaven by her parents Florence and Verne Wallace, brother James Wallace, her son Michael J. Hurry and numerous aunts, uncles and friends. She is survived by her daughters Patti (Randy) Searer, Sherri Hurry (Chad Martens), Lorri Hurry (Dave), her grandchildren Kayleen (Lyle) Peters, Jaycee (Pecos) Cook and Taylor (Page) Searer, her great grandchildren Kinlee and Leah Peters, Landyn, Oakley, and Rietta Cook.

A joint celebration of life will be held for Shirley and Michael Hurry at 2:00 p.m. on May 17th, 2025 at the F.O.B. of Billings, 526 Laurie Lane, Billings, MT 59105.
