Shirley Todd Obituary

Shirley Todd

Shirley Louise (Parks) Todd, 93, died on May 5, 2021. We, as her family, rejoice with her that she is Home with Jesus, but she leaves a hole in our hearts that only she could fill.

Shirley was born on Oct. 5, 1927, to Les and Phyllis Parks in Billings, Montana. Sister Lorraine and brother Ed completed the family. She married Hardin Todd on Feb. 25, 1949. Three children were blessed to come from this union of deep commitment and love, Pamie and twins, Ron and David. Shirley loved her family and kept them at the center of her life while working at several secretarial jobs through the years, including the Yellowstone County Auditor's Office, First Security Bank, and as an elementary school secretary at Garfield, Orchard, and Arrowhead schools. Shirley brought her highly refined skills of organization, beautifying environments, and caring for people into these places of work. Some of her favorite past times were needlework, knitting, crocheting, camping, boating at Deadman's Basin, RV'ing in Arizona, dressing beautifully for work and special occasions, and gracing all hand written items, even 'honey do' lists, with her stunning penmanship. Shirley invested in the lives of others as a volunteer at Billings Clinic and at Faith Chapel with Kids' Ministry projects and as 'Camp Grandma' for summer camp. Her love for Jesus and His Word were the basis of her giving heart. There will be a family graveside later this summer. Memorials can be made to Faith Chapel Camp Scholarship fund or the charity of your choice.

I'm sorry for your loss, she was a wonderful, friendly lady. I use to live by her and her husband on Yale, I didn't realize it was her when I worked at West Park Semior living until my best friend that lived across the street on Yale told me that was her.

What a kind, gentle spirit Shirley was. I loved and admired her so much! From the first moment I met her, she modeled the grace and dignity of a real and authentic child of God. So sweet. So other centered. My love and prayers are with you now.
