GARNEILL - Steve Lemmon, of Garneill, passed away Oct. 27, 2010, in his home, surrounded by his family, due to complications of cancer.
Steve was born on the ranch on Jan. 16, 1939, to Leo Lemmon and Etta (Brewington) Lemmon. Steve attended Garneill Elementary and Moore High School in 1957. Following high school, Steve worked for the Forest Service and then joined the Army and was stationed in Germany in 1961.
Steve worked road construction and then came home to the family ranch, where he met the love of his life. Steve married Patti Anne Else, June 6, 1978, in Dillon. From this union were born David, Becky and Theresa. Steve went to work for Fergus County Road Department in 1994 while continuing to ranch.
Steve was an avid sportsman and taught his wife and children to be the same. Steve thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and the company of his family. Becoming a grandpa, or "Pops," as he was referred to, was the highlight of his final chapters of his life.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leo and Etta; brother Don; and his father and mother-in-law, Lester and Tina Else.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Patti; son David (Angela) and their children Walter, Isabelle and Winston; daughter Becky and her daughter Raelee; and daughter Theresa (Brandon) and their children Preston and Dallas; his brother, Jake Lemmon and sister Pauline Fowler; as well as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
