Susan Tocco Obituary

Susan Diane (Bangen) Tocco, 74, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at Billings Clinic Hospital, just three days before her 75th birthday. Susan was born on January 22, 1951, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Harriet and Harold Bangen. She grew up surrounded by close family and the values of hard work and care for others that would guide her throughout her life.

Susan spent much of her childhood on her grandmother's farm in Climax, Minnesota, where some of her fondest memories were made. Those early years on the farm helped shape her deep appreciation for family, tradition, and simple joys. She carried those lessons with her always and later worked hard to create that same sense of warmth and connection for her own family.

She married the love of her life, Michael David Tocco, and together they built a life centered around their three sons: Paul, Jason, and Jarod. Susan was a firm but loving mother, raising her boys with clear expectations, strong values, and a steady understanding that every rule and lesson came from a place of love. Her family always knew that behind her firmness was a heart that cared deeply and endlessly for them.

Family, in every sense, was Susan's passion. She devoted countless hours to researching and recording family history, carefully building a family tree so her children and grandchildren would always know where they came from. She lovingly collected memorabilia from her own travels and from the trips her children and their families took, preserving each ticket, trinket, and keepsake as part of the larger story of the Tocco family. She also took special pride in completing her parents' china set, patiently tracking down the missing pieces so that their legacy could be passed down intact.

Susan was especially proud of her grandchildren: Kaleb, Anthony, Cooper, Vincent, Paige, Sophia, Michael, and Luca Tocco. She delighted in sharing stories about them with her friends and family, always eager to talk about what they were doing and who they were becoming. Shopping trips with her granddaughters were among her favorite pastimes, moments she treasured for the laughter, conversation, and time together.

Kind-hearted and genuinely interested in others, Susan always wanted to know how people were doing. Whether it was a family member, a friend, or someone she had just met, she made time to listen and to care. Her thoughtfulness, warmth, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Susan is survived by her husband, Michael; her sons, Paul Tocco, Jason Tocco, and Jarod Tocco; her grandchildren, Kaleb, Anthony, Cooper, Vincent, Paige, Sophia, Michael, and Luca Tocco; and her siblings, Bruce, Michael, Diana, Debbie, and Janelle. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave, the family history she preserved, and the legacy she leaves in the hearts of those who loved her.

Honoring Susan's last request, we remember her with these words: ""Remember me with love and laughter, if you can only remember me with tears then don't remember me at all.""

Sue was such a special friend to me.
I worked with her first at One Hour Valet for 10 years and then we worked together at All American Pharmaceutical for 15 years before she retired.
I learned soo much from her working these jobs.
She was an amazing, classy lady and I will miss her so very much.
We had good times shopping and going out for lunch together.
Sending prayers to you Mike and her family.
She loved her grand babies, and always talk about them.
Rest in peace Sue, you will always be in my heart.
