Terrell (Terry) Lee Langstraat
MELSTONE - Terrell (Terry) Lee Langstraat, of Melstone, Montana, left his earthly body on October 13, 2023, due to complications from cancer. He entered heaven to live in eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where pain and suffering are no more. He just celebrated his 79th birthday with all of his daughters and their families on September 28th. Terry was a one-of-a-kind man, and if you knew him, just hearing that makes you smile. He was always the most positive and encouraging person on the planet! He would find the silver lining in every situation, there was never negativity in his mind. He loved everything he did, and over his 79 years, he did a lot! He loved his family with all his heart! He was so proud of all of his girls, and he was a happy man when we all spent time together. He is so missed, and our hearts are broken. He was an adventurer at heart and loved hunting, water skiing, snowmobiling, snow skiing, and traveling. His deepest passions in life were his family, ranching & farming, horses & cattle, gardening, dancing, and worshiping the Lord.
Terry lived by the philosophy of work hard, play hard. His first career was as a welder for a couple of years. From there he transitioned to many entrepreneurial pursuits, such as raising dogs, pigs, and farming. He moved his family to Montana after developing a love for the state while vacationing there. For the first decade, he did the custom grain harvest run from Texas to Canada with all of his girls as the head combine drivers. From then on, he pursued ranching and farming for the remainder of his years.
Terry was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on September 28, 1944 to parents Petronella (Nellie) and Henry Langstraat Sr. After graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Marcella Pilcher, and they were together for 24 years. From that union, he had four daughters: Valerie, Laura, Paula, and Nannette. He met the love of his life, Coral Swanke and they were married for 37 years, until his passing. From that union, he had one daughter, Cassandra.
He is survived by his wife Coral, and his daughters Laura, Paula (Randy), Nannette (Toby), and Cassandra (Christian). Grandchildren: Victoria (Tony), Jeffrey (Chris), Coy, and Hayley.
He is preceded in death by parents Petronella (Nellie) and Henry Langstraat Sr., his siblings Agnes, Emily, Leona, and Henry Jr., and his infant daughter Valerie. Visitation (Wake) will be held at Smith Funeral Home on October 27th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Celebration of Life for Terry will be held October 28th at 9:30 am at Faith Chapel (517 Shiloh Rd, Billings, MT) followed by burial at Laurel Cemetery (1st Ave. Laurel, MT) followed by a reception at Hilton Garden Inn (2465 Grant Rd, Billings, MT) at 12:30 pm.
