Loved this man. He was a special soul. I hope someone wrote the book he wanted to pen for many years. He saw himself as unworthy, except by God's grace. I am deeply saddened by his passing. Rest in peace, Howard. You are worthy.

I loved Howard from my earliest memory in Birmingham Alabama. He was our family's comforter for many many years. He buried my mother, brother, brother in law and I'm not sure who else. His words of comfort and wisdom will stay with me for a lifetime. I'm the baby Cope and am 77 years old. This man was wise, kind, intelligent, savvy in wisdom, but most of all he loved and cared for people of all walks of life. Rest In Peace my friend, knowing you have earned every star in your crown! Well done my faithful servant! Sally Cope Redfern, Richmond, VA

Howard Collins grew up with my Cope family and later another Cope generation met and loved him.He was there in our sorrows, joys and was much loved by all. He was my friend for 64 years. The Holmes family loved him as well. How blest we have been to have him in our lives. Rest in peace.

Howard Collins touched my life more than 40 years ago at First United Church in Sylacauga. I saw Howard Collins as a gentle spirit that was committed to pastoring to all ages & stages. He supported our youth choir and our travels each Spring Break. He and Associate Pastor, Don Cross performed the marriage of me and my wife Mary Alice.
God Bless You Howard Collins. So Blessed to call you Pastor & Friend!

So saddened to hear of Howard's passing. I was privileged to have worked with Howard at Brookwood/Parkside lodge and a wonderful friend and trusted colleague he was. He taught me so much and I loved him. Due to many moves in nursing homes, I lost contact with Howard. I would ask colleagues if they knew. I know now where my good friend is; Heaven.
