Althea Kilber Obituary

Althea Kilber

Althea Klain Kilber lost her courageous battle with cancer on Nov. 25, 2007.

She was born Oct. 24, 1958, to Albert and Aldores (Wilke) Klain of Turtle Lake. She attended and graduated from Turtle Lake-Mercer High School. She then graduated with a triple major in elementary education, early childhood and behavioral sciences from the University of Mary in Bismarck. She taught kindergarten in Robinson and Mott. She married Bruce Kilber on May 27, 1983. Champlin, Minn., became their home, which welcomed Britta Grace on July 26, 1992, and Brant Allen on July 2, 1996. She touched many young children's lives in her teachings at Hopkins Early Learning Center, in-home daycare provider, pre-school teacher at Servant School House and special mom.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce, her daughter, Britta (15), and her son, Brant (11), all of Champlin. She is also survived by her father and stepmother, Albert and Lorraine Klain, Garrison; one sister, Aldeen Klain, Bismarck; and one brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Mary, and niece and nephew, Aaron and Amy Klain, all of Turtle Lake.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Aldores Klain, Turtle Lake.

An endowment fund will be started in her memory at Camp of the Cross, Garrison. Memorials may be sent to Camp of the Cross, 1228A 47th Ave. N.W., Garrison, N.D. 58540. This was a very special place in her heart and she fully embraced their mission to children. (Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels, Coon Rapids, Minn.)
