LANGDON - Andrew L. (Bud) Murie, 90, Langdon, passed away Nov. 23, 2009, at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital, Langdon. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at United Methodist Church of Langdon. Interment will be in Harvey Centre Cemetery, Rural Langdon.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, Langdon, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour before the time of the services at the church on Saturday.
Andrew Lyle Murie was born Oct. 7, 1919, to Andrew and Effie B. (Smith) Murie. He was raised in Harvey Township, Cavalier County. Bud was united in marriage to Ila Romfo on June 9, 1942, at Vang. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in Harvey Township. Bud lived in Harvey Township his entire life, with the exception of two years, until 1993 when he and Ila moved to Langdon. He drove out to the farm and kept track of crops on a regular basis up until last month.
Bud is survived by two sons, Orlin Murie, Camino Island, Wash. and Larry (Helen) Murie, Langdon; his grandchildren, Vicki (Darrel) Wrege, Orly Murie, Tammy (Tim) Aronson, Tina (Jamie) Bryn, Teri Murie and Troy Murie; his great-grandchildren, DiAnn "Dez" Kiefer, Taylor Wrege, Tracy Aronson, Andrew Murie, Shannon Bryn, Tucker Aronson, Tristen Murie, Peter Bryn and Allison Brynn; his great-great-grandchild, McKenna Kiefer; his sister, Della Crockett, Langdon; his sister-in-law, Ann Marie Davis, Vancouver, Wash.; and many neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ila; his sister, Myrtle M. Boomgaarden; his brother, Orville Glenn; and one granddaughter.
