Bertha Rath

Bertha Rath, 91, beloved wife, mother and grandmother joined her heavenly father and family Nov. 9, 2020, at her home at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck. She was born Dec. 9, 1928 to the parents of John and Christine Waltz. She grew up with seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 515 Kundert St., Turtle Lake. Pastor Allen Wagner, Bismarck, will preside over the memorial service.

Bertha married John on Sept. 1, 1949. In 1978 John passed and Bertha moved to Bismarck in 1983.

Bertha will be remembered by her children: sons Dennis (Trudy), of Atkinson, Neb., and Mike Rath, of Turtle Lake; daughters Gloria (Bob) Hanson, of Bismarck, Patty Rath, of Bismarck and Sheila (Jim) Heil, of Bismarck. Her sister Emma Lecy, two brothers Gust and Bill Waltz; many grandchildren, a great-grandchild and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. They will all miss her so very much.

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, John, son Marvin, daughter Bonnie, great-grandchild Cadence Erickson; her parents, John and Christine Waltz, sisters Esther Heinle and Alma Ake and brother John Jr.
