Brian Schaff Obituary

Brian P. Schaff, 33, Mandan, died Nov. 3, 2000, in a Mandan nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Albert Leary officiating. Burial will be in the Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation begins Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a roary said at 7 p.m., followed by a parish vigil at 7:30 p.m.

Brian P. Schaff was born Sept. 23, 1967, in the Mandan Hospital, the third son of Paul and Ann (Koller) Schaff. Brian lived on a farm near Solen until he was 14, where he attended Solen and Cannon Ball Elementary and Middle School. During those years, he was active as a mass server in the Catholic Church, always ready to volunteer to serve, thus he had the opportunity to serve at his grandparents' golden anniversary and other special occasions. He was active in the Bismarck Horse Club and attended the International Music Camp in the spring of 1981. He enjoyed riding horses and playing with his dog. In 1981, he moved to Mandan with his family and attended Mandan High School and was active in the FFA. During this time, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and riding motorcycle. Brian had been employed at Mandan Supply.

Brian is survived by his parents, Paul and Ann Schaff, Mandan; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James and his friend, Tracy, and Jerry and Brenda, all of Mandan; and one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Clair Gullickson, Solen; three nieces, Amanda Schaff, Amber Mathern and Callie Gullickson; three nephews, Clayton Schaff, Cole Gullickson and Brent Schaff; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gertrude and John Koller and Magdalena and Paul Schaff, and several aunts and uncles. (Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan)
