Christine Fleck
Christine "Chris" M. Fleck, 35, Mandan, formerly of Beulah, died July 6, 2008, in Mandan. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher as celebrant. Burial will follow services in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a rosary/parish vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to services at the church Friday.
Chris was born Dec. 27, 1972, in Bismarck, the daughter of Leonard and Magdalina (Vogel) Fleck. She attended school in Mandan until the fifth grade, when the family moved to Beulah. A 1991 graduate of Beulah High School, Chris went on to attend massage therapy school in Iowa where she earned her massage therapy degree. Chris opened her massage practice in Beulah where she was very successful and had many faithful clients. In 2000, after meeting Bonnie, Chris moved to Seattle and continued her practice there.
A talented musician who wrote, played and recorded many songs, Chris was truly at her best with a guitar in her hands. An avid animal lover, her three dogs held a special place in her life. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Chris was passionate in everything she did and will be greatly missed.
Chris is survived by her life partner, Bonnie Benson, Seattle; her father and step-mother, Leonard and Karen Fleck, Mandan; one brother, Kevin (Liz) Fleck, Mandan; her nephew and niece, Dylan and Allison Fleck; her grandparents, Eugene and Edna Vogel, Mandan; her step-brother, Jason Miller (special friend, Terry), Minot; her step-sister, Kara Miller, Taiwan; three dogs, Hanson, Duty and Molly; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie, in 1998; and her grandparents, Anton and Monica Fleck.
