Dennis Poeschel Obituary
Dennis "Denny" Bernard Poeschel, 66, of Mondovi, Wis., died May 10, 2005, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Services were held Saturday, May 14, at Central Lutheran Church, Mondovi, with the Rev. James Tallman officiating. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
Denny was born Sept. 21, 1938 in Durand, Wis., a son of the late Clarence and Gertrude (Brenner) Poeschel. He attended Mondovi High School, graduating with the class of 1956. On Sept. 30, 1961, Dennis was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth Dregney in Eau Claire, Wis. Denny was known by many for his employment at Farmers Lumber Company, Mondovi Implement and Tractor Supply Company in Eau Claire. Following a promotion to store manager at Tractor Supply Co. he and his wife relocated to Great Falls, Mont., until 1969, when they moved to South St. Paul, Minn., to help open one of the largest Tractor Supply Co. stores in the area. In 1972, Denny and his family moved to Bismarck. In 1976, Denny began his career with NuTone Company as a sales representative, a career that lasted until his retirement in 2000. Wherever Dennis lived, he always found time to volunteer his time to civic or church organizations. While in Bismarck, he played an instrumental role in the building of the Blue Line Club, which is an all seasons sports arena.
He was an active life long member of the Optimist Club. For the past five years, he and his wife wintered at the Citrus Gardens Community in Mesa, Ariz., while living there Denny's community service shined strong by his presidency of the homeowners association. Denny had a great determination for success, whether it was professionally, civically or personally he would do it to the best of his ability. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling and especially golf. He was also an avid Packers and Badgers fan. Denny's most treasured love was for his family, especially his three precious granddaughters.
Denny will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Poeschel; two children, Ann (Chris) West, Grafton, Michael Poeschel, Belleville, Wis.; his three precious granddaughters, Katie Poeschel and Elizabeth and Molly Anne West; his mother-in-law, Irma Dregney, Mondovi; and by many other close relatives and dear friends from near and far.
Besides his parents, his father-in-law, Arthur Dregney, preceded him in death. (Poeschel Funeral Home, Mondovi, Wis.)
