Diane Beth Boschee, 70, Las Vegas, passed away on Nov. 24, 2017. Memorial services and art auction will be held at a later date at the Mandan High School, Mandan.
Diane Beth Schmidt was born June 30, 1947, daughter of Alvin and Joyce (Rueter) Schmidt. She was raised and educated in Hebron.
She attended the University of North Dakota where she received her Bachelor of Science in Art. She then taught in North Dakota and Wisconsin before receiving a full Assistantship to the University of Illinois to obtain her Master's degree and beyond in Art.
She taught for 34 years in Mandan, Wisconsin and Las Vegas. While teaching in Mandan, Diane conducted and custom developed university credit of over twenty student/culture tours to Europe (1980-1998). She earned Teacher of the Year honors in North Dakota, University of Illinois and the Southwest Region of Las Vegas. She was also a member of the Southern Nevada Retired Teacher's Association.
She married Kenneth Boschee in 1970, they had one son, Brian William Boschee. On June 25, 1995, she married Douglas Bothun at the Kaewala'i Church in Makena, Maui, Hawaii.
Diane is survived by her son Brian Boschee, wife Kim and precious grandson Scott Boschee, Las Vegas; her brother William (Bill) Schmidt and wife Peggy, Sheridan, Wyo.; her sister Mary (Candy) Brunelle and husband Michael, Rapid City, S.D.; five nephews, Todd Metzger and wife Jill, children Molly and Mia, Fargo; Mark Metzger and wife Andrea, children Alyssa, Chase, Lucas and Niko, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Pat Brunelle and wife Dawn, children Tanner, Tate, Trey and Kiera, Bismarck; William Schmidt, Jr and wife Abby, children CJ and Eli, Windsor, Colo.; Ryan Schmidt and daughter Lexis, Dayton, Wyo.; one niece, Sarah Schmidt Ray and husband David, children Maggie and Taylor, Columbus, Ohio; two cousins, Julie Klein and husband Monty, children Christoper and Jonathon, Bismarck; Bev Sattler and husband Don, Goodyear, Ariz.
Diane loved life, family, students and friends. She will be missed by many! In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to William (Bill) Schmidt, 376 Pheasant Place, Sheridan, WY 82801, which will be put in the Diane Boschee Estate to be divided between the National Lymphoma Society and Mandan High School Art Curriculum, per her wishes.

Mrs Boschee was my art teacher in 87&88 & she was such a great person, really I can't even adequately express how greatly she encouraged me. She's one of only 3 teachers that made a huge difference but she definitely was that special kind that does.
