Donald Neff Obituary

Donald E. Neff, 75, Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 22, 2004, at his home. He was born May 27, 1928, in McClusky, N.D., the son of Charles George Neff and Martha Schindler Neff.

Donald was raised and educated in McClusky and attended the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and the North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton. He married Audrey Jean Seefeldt on June 28, 1952, in Grand Rapids. He was employed by I.B.M. as an instructor and as a field manager at Minot, St. Paul, Minn., Kingston, N.Y., and Milwaukee, Wis. He lived in Minneapolis the past 20 years, and moved to Bella Vista in 2000.

Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a loyal and proud American and wanted his children and grandchildren to love this country. During his lifetime, he was very active in numerous churches, serving as councilman and council president. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church. He was proud of being an Eagle Scout. He was an avid stamp collector, and active in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Philatelic Clubs. His biggest love was for his children and grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Audrey S. Neff, Bella Vista; his son, Kent Neff, Shakopee, Minn.; his daughters, Candace Hebar, and her husband, Richard, Bella Vista, and Nancy Neff Speltz, and her husband, Kevin, St. Joseph, Mo.; five grandchildren, Andrew Hebar, and his wife, Jennifer, Andrea Hebar Hanson, and her husband, David, Alex Speltz, Kallie Speltz and Clayton Speltz; and his brothers, Vern C. Neff, Williston, Harold Neff, Bismarck, Robert Neff, Hendricks, Minn., and Richard Neff, Spokane, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bella Vista Community Church, with the Rev. David McKay officiating. Following the service all are invited to a reception of relatives and friends at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9063 at the Bella Vista Cemetery.
