WISHEK - Elaine O. Blinsky, 82, Wishek, died April 26, 2015, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Elaine Flanders, daughter of Henry and Fern (Hart) Flanders, was born May 7, 1932, at Heaton. Elaine grew up and attended school at Pettibone. She then attended Valley City State Teachers College, where she received her teaching certificate.
Elaine was united in marriage to LaVern R. Blinsky on Jan. 17, 1953, at Carrington. They made their home in Wishek, where she taught school in the Wishek area for 30 years, retiring in 1989. Elaine was a active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years and involved with WELCA and quilting on Tuesdays. She was also a member of the Fred Kelly American Legion Auxiliary in Wishek. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, golfing, gardening, cooking and canning.
Elaine is survived by one son, Terry (Barbara) Blinsky, Bismarck; three daughters, Margo Blinsky, Wishek, Dawn (Glenn) Dallman, Lehr, and Jodi Nelson (fiance, Tim Sloan), Apple Valley, Minn.; three brothers, Gerald Flanders, California, Merrill (Arlene) Flanders, Tuttle, and Marlow (Paula) Flanders, Pettibone; one sister, Phyllis Labor, Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Preston and Tanner Blinsky, Kari Abt and Chad (Lisa) Kaseman, Felicia (Jeff) Sampson, Jeremy Dallman and Jessica (James) Fandrich and Brandy and Cody Vetter; 13 great-grandchildren, Victoria and Austin Abt, Alexis, Sophia and Kaylee Kaseman, David (Tori), Dustyn (fiance, Reynel Himmelspach), Destinee and Dawson Huber, Colbie, Riley and Lauren Fandrich and Leah Vetter; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aiden Huber and Maebri Gramling.
