Gary Feist

STERLING - Gary J. Feist, 46, Sterling, died Oct. 26, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at St. Hildegard's Catholic Church, rural Menoken, with the Rev. Christopher Kadrmas officiating. Burial will be held in Sterling Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bismarck Funeral Home, with rosary and vigil services at 7 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to services at the church.

Gary was born Sept. 26, 1961, in Wishek, the son of George Sr. and Victoria (Bitz) Feist. He moved to Sterling in fall 1964. He was employed with Farmers Union Station in Sterling and was an excellent mechanic, working on all types of vehicles, though Pontiac was his favorite. He also enjoyed working on computers, old tractors and watching Nascar racing; his favorite driver was Tony Stuart. He enjoyed socializing with his friends whenever possible. He is survived by four brothers and six sisters, Shirley Bender and Mario Abeyta, both of Denver, George Jr. (Geraldine) Feist, Sterling, Rita (Darrell) Bertsch, McClusky, Gerard (Julie) Feist, Bismarck, Gregory Feist and Linda Gumke, both of Steele, Mary (Clint) Renken, Mandan, Glenn Feist, Sterling, Teresa (Randall Kuntz, Mandan, Alice (Brian) Geloff, Apple Valley, and Victoria (Jeff) Barth, Driscoll; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
