During his childhood, Todd lived in a number of places including New Town, Minot, Belcourt, Rolla and Bismarck. Growing up, he attended Wahpeton Indian School, went away on the Placement Program to Idaho, attended Belcourt Middle School and finally Mandan High school.
In 1984, he married Stephanie Zephier. They resided in McLaughlin for a number of years. During this time, they became foster parents. They moved to Grand Forks, where Todd attended University of North Dakota and at the time were in the process of adopting one of their foster children, Ashley.
He lived in White Shield for a while and met and later married Felicia Felix in 1991. It was during this marriage that they had his eldest son, Vincent. Throughout these years was when Todd spent some time reconnecting with his spiritual path.
In June 1998, he met and married Julia Bull and they made their home in Minnawauken. During this time, he completed CDL training at Little Hoop College and drove semi and traveled all over the United States. He decided to stay closer to home and became a bus driver for Spirit Lake. Always the helper, Todd used his spare time driving the ambulance for Spirit Lake Emergency Services. During this union, he and Julia had son, Mayan and daughter, Larissa. He also adopted her two daughters, Alissa and Shana.
The summer of 2004, Todd did firefighting in Montana with nephews, Brendan and Loren, then moved with his kids to Mandan. He attended United Tribes and in 2008 graduated with his associates in small business management, and his bachelor of science in business administration in 2012. While attending UTTC, he was the president of student government. Todd was also among the first recipients of the David Gipp Leadership Fellowship.
During the time he received his bachelor's, he met the love of his life, Nation End of Horn. They made their home in Standing Rock with their children and grandchildren. There they raised horses, spent many weekends traveling to powwows, and continued their never ending quest for education.
He was held in high esteem by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Veda Red Fox. He was always supportive of his five sisters and did his best to protect them. He loved his kids so much and is remembered as their favorite uncle by all of his nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who doted on his grandchildren; he wanted his children and grandchildren to know their traditions as well as the importance of a good education. He is remembered by many as someone with a friendly handshake with a good heart and a great sense of humor. He made many friendships with singers and dancers on the powwow trail.
Todd will be missed greatly by all. The loss of our father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend will be felt deeply for years to come, but we will find solace in knowing his is watching over us.
