WATFORD CITY -- Harold Duane Chadwick, 47, Watford City, died March 18, 2000 in a Rochester, Minn., hospital of leukemia. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, at Watford City High School with the Rev. Adrian Timmons officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the school today.
Harold Chadwickwas born April 8, 1952 at Bismarck, the son of Charles and Adeline (Fraase) Chadwick. He graduated from Glenburn High School in 1970. On Dec. 19, 1970, he was united in marriage with Sandra Kingsley at Glenburn.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1974 at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. He attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. The family moved to Keene in 1978, when Harold worked for his father's welding business. In 1980, Harold and his brother-in-law, Bryan Kingsley purchased the welding business. Harold sold the business in December of 1996. He attended business courses in New Town and was the bookkeeper for OK Implement in Watford City and Mandaree Enterprises in Mandaree prior to his death.
Harold was diagnosed with leukemia on Jan. 19, 2000 and was in the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
He attended Johnson Corners Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Carl E. Rogen American Legion Post in Watford City. He enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, attending his children's school events, and was a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sandie, Watford City; one son, Erik Chadwick, Mayville State College; two daughters, Tarri Jo Chapin and her daughter, Shelby, Ruthville, and Crystal Houser and her sons, Dameon and Demrick, Watford City; his mother, Adeline Chadwick, Fargo; and two brothers, Rhinney and his wife, JoAnne, and Charlie and his wife, Pat, all of Fargo.
He was preceded in death by his father.
