Janice Juma
Janice Mae (Ohlhauser) Juma joined her husband, Joe, in the arms of our Lord on Aug. 21, 2021 in Bismarck.
Janice was born on Dec. 31, 1943 to the late Louis and Martha (Eichorst) Ohlhauser in Hazelton, North Dakota where she lived her childhood until she moved to Stanley during her junior year in high school. It was during her senior year of high school that she met her soulmate, Joe Juma. They were married Aug. 30, 1963 in Stanley. They made their home on the family farm by White Lake northwest of Stanley. There they raised their three daughters on the farm until they moved into Stanley.
Janice enjoyed sharing her gift of preparing food. She shared this gift at the Stanley Bethel Home, Pizza on Main and hundreds of local children within the Stanley Schools. She will be greatly remembered for her homemade buns, orange rolls, caramel rolls, cinnamon rolls and potato salad. Her catering was enjoyed by many in her community.
Later in life, she and Joe later moved to assisted living in Minot. After Joe's death, Janice moved to Touchmark Assisted Living in Bismarck.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Jackie Delaney of Devils Lake, Julie (Bob) Caranicas of Mandan, Jean Summers of Bismarck; grandchildren, Heather Delaney of Indianapolis, Ind., Megan (Ethan) Guannac of Fishers, Ind., Matthew Delaney of Fishers, Ind., Ashleigh Hubrig of Wahpeton, Amber Caranicas of Fargo, Courtney Caranicas of Fargo, Joey Caranicas of Minot, Isaac Summers of Bismarck, Jamaar Summers of Bismarck, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Louis Ohlhauser; husband, Joe; siblings, Matilda (John) Wahl, Rudy Ohlhauser, Florence (Ted) Ohlhauser, Edna (Bob Zerr and Don Flynn) Flynn, Ernie Ohlhauser, Eleanor (Earl) Nelson.
Janice's Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 at the Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church in Stanley. Pastor Rodney Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Springan Stevenson Funeral Home (120 12th Ave SE) on Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. Janice will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fairview Cemetery in Stanley. Springan Stevenson Funeral Home of Stanley is assisting the family. Condolences may be left on the funeral home website.

To the whole family I am so sorry for your loss, I only met Janice and her two daughters Jean and Julie at Sanford while waiting for my husbands liver biopsy, and I am Uncle Jim,s and Aunt Marys niece Shelly, I m glad to have met her and got to give hug and sing Jesus loves me in Spanish to her and might seem kinda funny in a hospital especially with dealing with cancer but i believe we have to bring light in love where there is any darkness and fear, God Bless and my husband and I were glad to have met Janice even if it was in a hospital bed with curtains... the enemy tries to keep us away from HOPE but God is bigger and HOPE stands for Hearing Other People´s Experiences and Heaven Offers Promises Everyday, and Hang On Pain Ends... I´m glad Janice is no longer in. Pain and living with Jesus and her husband Jo. Prayers to u all.

Offering my deep sympathy for your dear family at this difficult time. Your mother was larger than life and had welcoming arms for everyone she met. Her hospitality is something I will never forget. May you cherish those sweet memories and legacy your parents have left for each of you!
