Julia Bohl Obituary

Julia Bohl, 91, Bismarck, died Dec. 26, 2003, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Albert Leary officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the services at the church. A rosary will be said by the Christian Mothers at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Julia was born April 21, 1912, in Sweet Briar, N.D., to Stanley and Rose (Senn) Vogel. She married Peter Bohl, and they farmed from 1933 to 1950, in the Sweet Briar area. In 1950, they moved to Flasher where they farmed and bought a bar, and in 1960, they bought and ran a trailer court in Flasher. In the late 80's they moved to Mandan, after Pete's death she moved to the Chateau, Edgewood Vista and to the Elderly Foster Care Home in Bismarck until her death. Julia was a member of the Christian Mothers in Flasher.

She is survived by her son, Jim and his wife, Kathy, Bowbells; her grandchildren, Jeanine Shea, Bismarck, Jeff Bohl, Bowbells, Perry Bohl, Bismarck, and Kelly Swanson, Mandan; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her son-in-law, John Swanson, Mandan; six sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mary Lou Swanson; two brothers; and one sister.
