She was born in a private home Jan. 9, 1939, in Rupert, Idaho, to Edwin and Ruth Mehrer. At a young age, she moved to North Dakota and was a lifelong resident, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1956.

June married Curtis Hintz in 1984. He died in 1995. After a long career as a legal secretary at the Pearce & Durick Attorneys law firm, June retired in 2001.

During her lifetime, June enjoyed fishing, camping and artifact hunting. She and Curtis had many beloved pets. She enjoyed looking for vintage pigs and had a collection of over 1,000 pieces. She liked to travel and enjoyed musical theater, especially those composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Recent favorite pastimes were crossword and jigsaw puzzles, watching the Turner Classic Movie Channel, "Days of Our Lives" soap opera, and going to the casino. She also looked forward to visiting and lunching with friends.

June is survived by her sister, JoAnn Hebert, Michigan; nephews Bruce Bakken and Sean Bakken, Michigan; Bart Schorsch, Fargo; Karl Gunderson, West Fargo and Konrad Gunderson, Missouri; and nieces Mary Mehrer, North Carolina; Annette Mehrer, Arizona; Paula Redmann, Bismarck; Pam Schorsch and Peggy Biberdorf, Grand Forks; sisters-in-law Connie Gunderson, Minnesota and Jean Mehrer, Iowa, as well as many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis, her parents and brothers Ronald Mehrer and David Mehrer.

Memorials may be shared with Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church or with the Central Dakota Humane Society. Funeral arrangements provided by Bismarck Funeral Home.

I remember the farm, with David (my age) and Joanne. I especially remember the wind vane . It was magic. I forgot to mention that in my other message.

Memories of June go way back to my early childhood. We are double cousins and have the same extended blood family. My memories are all good, especially memories of the farm. A magical place for me! Condolences and best wishes to all.
